Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

You may tend to believe that when you have a little more time, you’ll be vacuuming and mopping, cleaning the cupboards, or mopping the floor. Unfortunately, by letting the little things pile up, you’re making the job that much harder for yourself. The best trick is to deal with the smallest tasks as they arise. It is better to devote ten minutes a day to household chores than to wait several months to spend a whole day cleaning.

Keep your house tidy

Over time, we all end up hoarding a lot of stuff, but such hoarding can make your home look messy and neglected. Take the time each day to go around the house to pick up objects lying around on the floor, on the desk or on the table and put them back in the right place. This will help you keep your home tidy at all times.

Plan a cleaning schedule

Instead of waiting to find the time to do certain chores, plan a cleaning schedule and make sure you stick to it. As with any other appointment, make sure you do the dishes on time, take out the trash, vacuum the house every week, or do whatever else is essential. The better you can manage weekly and daily chores, the less messy your home will appear.

Ask the children to help you

If your children are old enough to help, do not hesitate to call on them. This can be a great opportunity to teach them the sense of responsibility to one day take care of their own home. Start with simple tasks that only take a few minutes, like washing the sink and mirror, mopping the floor in their bedroom, or wiping down the countertop in the kitchen. These small tasks, even the most insignificant, can save you a lot of stress.
